Ruoff Mortgage Marketing Material

In my time as an intern at Ruoff, I was tasked with creating and updating various collateral items for the marketing team. My biggest project was the First Time Home Ownership Guide, a booklet that loan officers distribute to first-time homeowners to use as a reference point for standard home-buying information. The booklet needed to be updated to comply with Ruoff’s new branding for marketing materials. Additionally, the First Time Home Ownership PowerPoint Presentation needed to be updated to match the new visual style of the booklet.

Another form of collateral I created in my time at Ruoff included various social media posts. These also needed to adhere to Ruoff’s refreshed branding.

My goal for the First Time Homeownership Guide was to create a design style that makes the process of first-time home buying less daunting and more approachable. I avoided using harsh, cornered shapes in the booklet to make the design more inviting. I carefully chose bright, colorful imagery that depicted people displaying authentic emotion, which I kept consistent throughout the entire guide. While bringing in some new, refreshed layout ideas, I adhered to Ruoff’s branding guidelines using their current typefaces, patterns, and colors to keep the guide exclusive to Ruoff’s branding. Once I completed the booklet, I then adapted my design into the PowerPoint.

Similarly, for social media posts, I created various vector-based and photography-based posts for holidays, infographics, recipes, etc., by using the patterns, colors, and type in Ruoff’s branding. Additionally, I created custom graphic templates for loan officers to custom-order for their social media.

During this process of working with the collateral, I collaborated with various members of the marketing team and copywriters to receive feedback from them. I wanted to ensure the design supported the text and did not take away from it.
